Oceangate Titan Submersible Implosion Video
The OceanGate Titan submersible implosion was one of the saddest and most important incidents in recent times.
The Titan was a private submerged vessel designed to dive into the RMS Titanic, and it remains buried deep in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Last June, the submersible lost contact with its mother ship while on a dive to the wreck site of the Titanic, at approximately 12,500 feet sea level.

An all-out search-and-rescue ensued, as many countries and agencies scoured for the submersible and its five passengers. But at the end of a few days of searching it turned out that the submersible had imploded because of the immense pressure of the deep ocean and killed everyone instantly.
Implosions occur when the pressure from the outside of a structure far exceeds the internal pressure and then sucks the structure inside out.
Pressures in the depths where the Titan plunged reach an extreme, reaching 375 times what exists at sea level. A small structural weak point or flaw would have crushed the submersible in milliseconds.

In these later investigations, it was found that there was a fast implosion and, therefore, less time was given to the passengers to realize the situation.
It has been confirmed by taking debris parts for which partly major parts of the pressure hull along with other components in large portions were collected to analyze the implosion.
The Titan implosion video shocked the public. The footage is a sobering reminder of the risks that accompany deep-sea exploration. While the video of the exact implosion moment is classified, there are animations and visual recreations that have been done showing how the submersible could have collapsed under pressure.
The footage caused a stir over wide debates regarding safety standards in the construction of submersibles, particularly those designed to operate in such extreme environments.
Engineering decisions of OceanGate drew strong condemnation, leaving one to wonder whether proper safety measures and testing took place.
The incident stirred warning awareness of perils in the pursuit of extreme oceanic exploration and increased scrutiny of private ventures that are engineering at the edge with the minimal regulatory inspection.
The massive loss of life, which included an acclaimed Titanic explorer and many passengers, reminded the world of the cruel nature of the deep sea.
